He is the younger son of Cengiz İçyer. Abdurrahman İçyer, a Fetullahist like his father Cengiz İçyer, was born in 1989 in Kartal district of Istanbul. Abdurrahman İçyer, who is married to Kübra İçyer, completed his PhD in the Department of History of Southern and Western Slavs at the Faculty of History, Moscow State University. Abdurrahman İçyer, who is currently pursuing his PhD in Medieval and Modern History at Georg-August University in Göttingen, Germany, fled abroad in June 2016 and is still wanted. Abdurrahman İçyer participates in the activities of the Gülen Movement's International Festival of Language and Culture (IFLC) in Russia and is the administrator of the organization's @iflcRussia account.
